this narrow path EP

The single, "This narrow path", was released at our show this past week, and is available from me or dave for $5, the single itself can be listened to upon our myspace page. Thoughts now turn to the album, and the CD release party tentatively scheduled for the end of march. At this point, there seems to be the likelihood of one in Weyburn, as well as Regina. Now, just left to mix it. There will be shot a video for the newly released single, for which I hope to have complete in time for the CD release.

Also announced is the intention to complete the Kat has the Key recordings from songs we wrote a couple years ago. I hope this will take place immediately after Downloading Nancy is finished. A brief window of time to take place much in the same fashion as the Linger recordings. Retreat based. As to where yet is unknown, but we will discuss this further. There is intention to take this show live, perhaps more in a coffeeshop sense. Justin Robson is also gearing up to do some live shows in May and April, for which i hope to be performing live guitar alongside him.

Now for something completely different. Our new show is actually shaping out to be something different than I expected. There is a genuine chance this show actually is something a lot more powerful than it seems. The acting is quite intense, and the way it's shot could make for a wicked movie. The cinematographer for Lady in the Water by M. Night whatshisface is on this picture, and there are no dull moments at all. Christopher Doyle is his name, and he is absolutely brilliant, the mad scientist of cinematography.

There's a thousand thanks i'd like to make for those who showed up to the show and had a good time, it feels good to be having that applebox to stand on again.

peace out friends

turning pages

seeing conclusions of many projects have brought me to the next project, the "artsy" erotic thriller "downloading nancy" started today. i don't know much about the content, but the first day of shooting, i worked 15 hours straight. after staying up til 1 am, going to work at 8 didn't seem so bad, but by 9:30 that night, i felt it, and by 11:30, i was ready to roll over and die. however, i'm still riding on the buzz of playing live again...despite a little rustiness, it was still quite fulfilling. we play again on friday of next week, seeing as it's really hard to mix 15 hour days and regular rehearsal...but the single is finished, after many hours of painstaking dedication, we have come out with "This Narrow Path" EP. Available on Feb. 16, 4 years to the date of Linger's Estevan show at the Willie Michell Centre. Attendees: 8, girlfriends, parents of band members, and 2 random strangers who wandered in. Yup, we had achieved success. A touring band.

anyhow, check it out, March 16 @ the Legion in Regina, there is going to be a party, and it is going to be awesome. bring your friends, family, pets to see a screening of 30 one minute films in celebration of the Filmpool's 30th anniversary. At which, I will premiere my one minute project entitled "30 Flowers, 30 Souls". Directed by and starring Shawn Fulton, Cinematography, Editing, Score by Rob Hillstead. It is weird, that's the best way of describing it. maybe it's not that erotic, but hey, that's okay too...

anyhow, bedways is rightways, i need sleep, or i will go insane...
see you in 23 days

silly monkeys, given thumbs they make a club and beat their brother down

The official UN report on climate change.

"So much for your neo-liberal western world without consequence.
Watch resistance, come full circle, watch our mother lovingly rebel.
We brought this upon ourselves."
--Dave Roman, Modern Miracles

Also watched the provocative documentary, "An Inconvenient Truth". Terrifies me to the bone. What can I say, a lot of simplified data and conclusions based on circumstantial evidence, but even if the least of what is presented comes to pass, then we are in a lot of trouble right now, and we will start to see the consequences in our lifetime. A product of our insatiable desire and reckless drive to consume with no consideration. We all play a part, but, once we've acknowledged the problem to be an imminent one, only then will we actually pursue some course of action to correct or at least slow down the rate at which we are destroying the fragile stability that the Earth and it's atmosphere offers. There are solutions, and they are relatively simple in the scheme of things, however sloth, greed and selfish materialism will be it's downfall. The requirement to change is a difficult one to push on an unwilling electorate, but it could be done. Industry would have to change it's reliance on non-renewable energy sources such as coal and oil. The economic giant doesn't want to lose it's primary revenue source, why ever would they have any desire to see people consuming less. So it is a political issue. The power resides within the electorate to influence political policy. Make this the issue to deal with, pressure your representatives, and hope they listen. The future holds death and destruction for a lot of people, something that is humanity's hubris, and will haunt the future generations, who will look back in disgust as they mine garbage dump for casually disposed resources.
