adieu

well, maybe it's time for a real blog entry, seeing as i haven't really posted much on here in the last couple of months, and then its usually non-sensical imagery and short entries...

well, work started on a new show today, RenegadeStress.com...i mean RenegadePress.com...wholesome quality teenage drama dealing with all the issues wrapped up within a half-hour timeslot. what a change in atmosphere...cool people stressed out is not cool, but that's how the shows almost always start...

luckily i've managed to learn how to not take it home with me...i don't know what i'd do if all i could think about was work, i'd go crazy.

the last week or so has been quite fun for me, our housewarming/mark's going away party/jam turned out quite well, reunions of many bands, and i'm happy that finally we did something like this...Jeremy posted a clip of Dulcet's jam on his blog, to be condemned by his own blog readership...oh well, i had fun, here's another linger pic:

yes, we did it, after 3 and a half long years we've jammed again...a little rusty, yes, but nothing that wouldn't come back in a practice or two...nostalgia galore that night, as well as new memories, a single song jam session lasting close to 2 hours, saxaphone, guitars, drums, organ, theramine, delay pedals, ableton live, shaker, microphone, you name it, it was being used as an instrument...

two days later i found myself outside of souris valley filming mark bauche in super8 film bleeding to death...fear not, it was fake blood, but it looked realistic, oh, just 'cause you found some random blood splattering on the college wing, and mark "disappears" for 2 years, doesn't mean the contents of the film are real...though my mom was in for a surprise when i didn't tell her i was gonna be down, and ended up cleaning out the blood props in her tub...she saw a few drops of blood and twigs in the tub and no doubt worried all afternoon about it :)

what better way to send off a friend to england then to shoot him in a film where he gets bludgeoned to death...

see you mark, stay in touch!

and if one were to wish to see this film, it will be showing at the mackenzie art gallery on nov. 2... there will be food, drink, and home movies of many different fashion :)

well, gotta head to bed, long stretch of work this week and next, stay in touch friends, i'm leaving this planet once again to the void of work, but i'll be back at xmas, i swear!

peace out homies

Kat with bloody hands, Me, and Mark after a brisk morning of snuff film creation (in super8 form that is). Amazing how fun it is to mix blood and violence with Souris Valley. Self-portrait.

5. Shine Through (acoustic)
6. Like Nails
7. Dead Ring (acoustic)
8. The Hanging (acoustic)
9. (instrumental, heavy)
10. (5/4 tune, not sure it ever had a name)

any additions? there's one wicked one we were working on that i think was close enough to completion, but i can't describe it more than a chorusy thing...
