My mother felt two losses to her family yesterday, one to age, and another to cigarettes and the resulting cancer...my heart goes out to her.

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhh!! (that's in relief, for those who can't read through the expressionless internet)

it was a weekend of hanging out and biking and all those fun things...picked up a digital camera today, so expect to see a lot more pics on here...started the weekend with kat's b-day picnic, happy b-day to her and jeremy who both turned another year older this weekend...from there, a c-gas party, pretty high-profile for regina, but there were no arrests made, took a long slow cab-ride home and spent the morning nursing my spiced rum hangover which for me was remarkably mild...

then we headed out to buffalo pound and spent the remainder of the weekend enjoying a bike ride along the trails and through the marsh/rolling plains on kat's new bike...

one more week and my hiatus begins, it will be busy though...

so busy i could collapse, but am looking forward to seeing the fruits of labour which should start appearing in the next few weeks...music and film projects coupled with work has resulted with not having a single day off of some sort of intensive, time-constrained art project or another that has filled the hours of my weekends for a month. although i had one break in there, of 3 days where kat and i traveled to lac des isles for what in reality was about 30 hours or so, but still managed a couple good fishing sessions (is that the right description?), as well as an energetic bike ride in the la ronge-like forest surrounding the lake, no signs of bears this time.

this past weekend was exciting, some of my best work i think...shot a short film for friend and colleague mauricio carvajal, and although it is a different script than the one we were planning on doing earlier in the year, it went astonishingly smooth...i've seen some of the footage, and it looks great.

my mind has more and more turned to my week long vacation planned for the first week of august, it's been over a year now since we were out on the water last, and i anticipate this trip to be an interesting blend of people, all who will have the time of their lives...

dammit, i need to relax...and i will...

they released a teaser for spiderman 3 w/ venom, should be good, as well, i'm told there's a teaser circulating for a live action transformers movie...exciting...
