nickelback sucks, silent hill, adventure board
so, because i'm a whore and i need to work for my pay, i went and helped set up the nickelback show, as unexciting as that sounds, it was kinda neat as i hadn't done any lighting work on the stage side, as that of course, has NOTHING to do with filmmaking, so i was always sorta impartial about not doing stage work. however, right now, because i'm broke and desperate for money (i can wire basic rooms, i put in false ceilings, and give blowjobs @ $8/hr for any who'll give), i decided to work for nickelback. uneventful, they had some cool gear, but i've seen three better stage shows for arenas, tool, NIN, and David Bowie. i was shocked when i found out who was opening...LIVE!!! what the fuck?!? i didn't know they still played, but they were huge in the early 90s. I was offered to go backstage and see the bands tonite, but there's a
Stanley Kubrick lecture at the McKenzie Art Gallery i'd like to go check out. Stanley Kubrick and photography is the exact title of the lecture put on by wonderful Dr. Phillippe Mather, Campion's greatest film theory champion, he failed me in a class because i didn't hand in one single 5% assignment, despite the fact i had an A average in the class, never forgave him, but he's a good speaker, smart, and actually knows what he's talking about. plus he was voted the most likely to have sex with of the film factulty in the "year-book"...i voted yes in that poll, so go check it out, 7:00, be there or be square, or be there and be squarer.
Silent Hill the fucking movie!!! about fucking time...it better be good, or i'll hunt them down, drag them into my perverse inner world turning their deepest fears into cold blooded monsters, turn the atmosphere and environment around me into a metaphor for this inward plunge, and then finally kill them, OR ARE THEY ALREADY DEAD!?!?!?! guess we'll never really know.
check out the board, Tri-Province Adventure Club. Everyone who i've talked to about this should go because it's gonna be the canoe trip coordination page. And there are important matters to discuss that everyone should be a part of, i'm considering organizing an online chat for everyone involved so we can discuss the things like money, time, who's coming (as there are 16 people invited, but not everyone's confirmed a yes), and "delegation" of duty, as it probably won't be delegation, but volunteering. i'd like to compile an email address list so i can send out invitations, so if you read this and it applies to you, comment, and tell me if sunday night 10ish is good for you. yes so that's my schpiel.
i end you now with:
(picture to be inserted when i feel like it...or not, then i'll just leave you hanging

short and sweet
fuck you stephen harper
fuck you conservative party
fuck you liberals
fuck you fickle electorate
fuck you apathetic masses
my rant is done. i now shall speak nothing positive of politics for the next few years, as the arts dwindle from money being filtered into corporate tax cuts, as the public health care system goes from endangered to extinct, i hope you see who's dragging you down...
when the last fish is drawn from the sea, you'll realize the nutritional deficiency of all your precious money...
FUCK YOU NEOCONSERVATIVE SCUM!!!

I'm still a ball of stress
But, the shoot went about 3/4 as well as I had wanted, but that's significantly better than I thought it would...we start editing today or tomorrow, as our deadline is Jan. 20...i'll post it when it's finished...thanks again jeff and rhonda for helping out all day, i feel bad for rhonda's unfortunate run-in, hopefully insurance will take care of the problem... :)
busy day still, laying some bed-tracks later this afternoon for some khtk songs...returning equipment and all the great fun of that, haven't done recording in a while, but i don't think it'll take long to come back...
canoe trip stuff...confirming who's coming is next, right now attached, that i've talked to (or assumed, so correct me if i'm wrong):
kat
rob
kristie
rob
jeremy
matt
mark
davin
jeff
rhonda
stevie d
kim
(anyone who i've forgotten, someone should correct me if i have)
there are people who i offered last year that want to come so, as well as others who've just heard about it that also want to come, now i was hoping that we'd set a limit at 16, as any more could be a great difficulty to maintain stability...once this group is set, we can come to consensus on a trip plan...my suggestion is July 1-7, trip from Four Portage Bay to Missinippe, approximately 100-140km, depending on which route we take (as there is an extra loop on the last leg from Stanley Mission to Missinippe...another possibility is to take the shorter canoe route, (6 days paddling as opposed to 7), and spend the last night at a cabin on Otter Lake (10 mins drive north of Missinippe), for about $35/person, some people would have to sleep on the floor, but that sort of thing would be luxury after a week of rocks and tree roots...:)
but that can be discussed when we have a list...
later for now
peace, love, empathy

i don't have time to type this
but i'm going to anyhow...
my head may explode, shooting a short film tomorrow, that i produced, a script written by a colleague...i'd be excited if i wasn't so stressed...my weekend is busy, but i hope sunday i have some time to myself, though i believe we may be laying down some drum tracks for doug and i's group: "kat has the key"...it'll be good to get some of the music i've been working on over the last year or so down and recorded...makes me think that maybe i should keep chugging and maybe just continue recording songs before they disappear into oblivion...i've talked to a couple of the linger boys, but i think if this recording setup functions well, i think it could be worthwhile...haven't really considered the format yet, but well, it's more for posterity's sake, i just don't like losing creation into oblivion i guess...
goodnite all, catch you on the flip side, next time i speak to you i hope my stress and busy-ness has evaporated, but that doesn't seem to happen all that often...

bitch, shit, crack, propaganda, relic hunting, and rockin' out
i like doing nothing, i hate being unemployed...i like doing nothing while making money, but that doesn't happen very often...
steaming goodness is a short film that i've been preparing for about three weeks to shoot for a 5-minute short film contest...tentatively slated to shoot wednesday next week, it will be more or less of a "window-of-opportunity" shoot...
it's funny, and i hope it looks as good onscreen as it does on paper...
remember kids, don't smoke crack, stay out of the yayo...
more surprises on the coming on google video, some footage of jamming linger has surfaced, as well as the original footage of the linger music video, i'm considering recutting the video better than i originally did it, i know i can...
hey dave, what ever happened to the ol' linger tapes? it would be neat i think to try and find some of the jammed out versions of linger songs before they disappear into oblivion...what do you have left for schwack?
plus, me and doug have been talking...we may be setting up our basement into a studio in the coming days...unemployed, doing stuff, but not making any money...but at least i'm doing stuff
